Gallery 2 - Napoleonic - Bavaria 1809 BBB Army

The Bavarian Army of 1809 fought in the Danube valley and in the Tyrol against the Austrians.  I have created the units that fought in the Danube, organised & based to fight using the BBB rules.  Figures are Baccus.  Flags are 10mm which I reduced to 6mm size (okay...about 8mm, as they look better!).

The full army - 1 x General & ADC, 2 x Division Generals, 13 x Infantry bases, 3 x Skirmishers, 2 x 6pdr Artillery & Limbers, 3 x Cavalry

The Generals in more detail:

The Infantry

Skirmishers.  The Baccus models don't have plumes, so I added these by using bayonets (which in this scale, with a little work, are about the right size & shape) from the skirmishers & turned upside down.

Infantry skirmishers:

Light Infantry:

I knew that the flags would be a nightmare, so I printed out my own.  Here are the results:

Artillery:

I only needed two guns for the 1809 army, I also wanted Limbers and horse teams.  So, I consulted with Peter (Mr Baccus) and substituted Russians (NRU29) to get the effect needed.

Finally, the Cavalry:

Army uniform information was from the WJ Rawkins book, which is available on his website.

  1. Very attractive little army. Ingenious use of bayonets for jaeger plumes!

  2. Thank you. The bayonets do work well as plumes, thus enabling you to differentiate between troops. They also beef up some of the smaller moulded plumes - such as on French & Italian infantry, or various cavalry...
